How do you take care of Tape In hair extensions?

Showering with tape in hair extensions requires care. When you apply Halo's hair extensions to your hair, it’s important that you walk them through all their necessary maintenance tips. Make sure you do not wash their hair for at least 2 days after the application, otherwise this can cause slippage. Make sure that you follow this basic guide when washing your hair with tape-in extensions.

1. BRUSH YOUR HAIR BEFORE THE SHOWER
It’s necessary to brush your hair 2-3 times a day when you have extensions. Before getting into the shower always brush your hair, be sure to hold the ends of your extensions so that won’t tangle up in the process.

2. MAKE SHAMPOO CORRECTLY
One way to make sure your hair extensions look as nice as possible is by using a shampoo that has been designed specifically for that purpose. In addition, there is a proper way to properly shampoo the hair extensions so they stay healthy and shiny. You can start at the root of each extension and slowly rub down through the length of the extension without any tangling.

3. USE A CONDITIONER

Since women with extensions want to use all-natural ingredients, they would be best served by skipping all the unnecessary and harmful products that might be found in common drugstore conditioners. This line of specially formulated leave-in sprays is softer than regular conditioner, designed especially for extensions, and even works when applied before or after using heat or styling tools.

4. CAREFULLY DRY THE HAIR
When you get out of the shower, carefully brush your hair. Then use a towel to dry your hair. Start at the top of your hair and slowly move down the shaft of your hair to the tips. Don't rub the towel into your throat as that can potentially scratch open some skin sores and lead to all sorts of nasty infections! Now go quickly, but be careful with what you handle for this one!

5. BLOW AND DRY IT OUT
Heat applied in the right way can actually help you dry your hair faster. Start by using Heat, Treat & Shine and roll the product through the lengths of your hair. Flip your head over so that the product from roots to ends. Dry your hair while simultaneously running a wide-tooth comb through it to prevent tangling. Dry each section enough before moving on to the next one so that you don't end up with straight wet hair!
